Reception better than most. Easy and convenient to operate. Just remember that TV audio won't work after Feb 09, so price should be discounted.

For my Wife and It is great!
I bought this so my wife would have something to listen to while she is walking. It picks up better than most of the radios I have in my house. It picks up and tunes stations better than my Car radios. I really like this little thing. It is very lightweight and has weather information channels as well as a great price for such a good versatile radio.

OK radio
The standard FM/AM reception is decent on this radio and it's size is convenient but I have yet to find a weather station on it. Maybe it's just me. I'm going to try another brand.

Better than satisfactory
This radio is quite nice. I use it while riding the bus to and from work and the sound is good; it is easy to use and the headphones are comfortable. The only downside is that the reception is not as good as I thought it would be.

Best performing radio of this size I have ever owned
I have had this radio for about 3 years, and the first one finally succumbed to the frequent drops (it survived several falls from my bicycle at 15 MPH). The internal AM antenna finally dislodged permanently after I fixed it a few times

The AM reception is amazing. At home near Philadelphia, I can easily pick up all New York stations, and can regularly hear Chicago, Cleveland and Cincinnati stations.

The weather band function also works well.

The FM sound quality is OK. I have seen some criticism of this radio in other reviews, but the expectations seem to be unrealistic. It clearly serves its purpose as a small sports radio.

I also saw some criticism of the inadvertent button pushing while exercising - the unit has a lock switch this disables all controls except the volume control - this works very well.

I would highly recommend this radio, and as proof, I just bought a replacement.

Great radio poor built in antenna
I purchased the Inno XM radio and I love it. The only thing about it is that the built in antenna has a small quark. It must be held vertically or it will not work. It does not want to work if it is next to your body. It will not work with the included belt holder. I purchased the arm band holder and that does not work well ether. I tried to put the holders at different places around me and none of them worked. You MUST purchase the head phone/antenna combo or you will be disappointed with the radio. The only acceptable way to make the built in antenna work is to hold it vertically in your hand in front of you. Get the radio and head phone/antenna combo and you won't go wrong with this radio.

Great alternative to broadcast radio.It records and holds music while it plays, the only drawback is when your subscription expires, it erases your music you recorded from the radio, otherwise great buy!

Wonderful merger of technologies
Combine a satellite orbiting 22,236 miles above Earth broadcasting over 170 channels of radio entertainment with contemporary electronic miniaturization in a portable package measuring about 2.5 x 4 inches and you have the Pioneer Inno2.

In many urban areas, XM has provided terrestial repeater stations so you don't need line-of-sight accessibility to the satellites in the southern sky.

If you don't mind paying a small fee for monthly service, XM offers more than 170 channels of virtually every genre of music, talk shows for the left and right, sports, weather and emergency information - most of it commercial free.

The Inno2 is portable. Take it anywhere. Battery life is about 5 hours for receiving XM broadcast signals and substantially longer for playing the up to 50 hours of XM programming you can record on the unit. You can also load half the one gigabyte memory with your own MP3s. Personally I find the music selection on XM so broad that I am happy to just listen to that.

The unit has a very nice color LCD for tuning and setup. Setup is simple, reflecting the limited functionality of the radio. The battery, by the way, is replaceable so you can carry a spare if you like.

Sound quality will be more than adequate for most people, though true audiophiles will probably find it lacking.

Considering how expensive the unit can be, it is surprising that they don't include a car mounting kit. Instead it is an outlandishly priced extra.The unit does come with a home mounting kit, which provides a base for connecting the supplied antenna, power cord and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is also as headphone jack on the tuner itself for use when portable.

Those living in major urban areas should have little difficulty acquiring a signal because XM has repeaters in those area. You can also use the antenna in a south facing window to get a satellite signal.

Using the unit as a portable, you may encounter problems acquiring a signal because the internal antenna just doesn't cut the mustard. At that point, you will need the Antenna Headphones for Xm, which has an XM antenna built into the headband. Many people complain that these headphones are uncomfortable and use them only for the antenna, while plugging in their own headphones. The Belkin uses the proprietary connector used by the base unit, so the 3.5mm headphone jack is still available.

Personally, I find the Belkin headphones passable, but I can certainly "feel" the basis for other's complaints. Sony produces similar headphones, with small speakers projecting into the ears. In my opinion, this not great design work, but it does produce a minimally sized headset.

I find the Inno2 just as good a companion as an MP3 player, with the additional benefits of having a much wider programming choice and the ability to record up to 50 hours of material or load a relatively small number of my own MP3s.

By the way, careful shopping for this unit may provide substantial savings.

Overall, the Inno2 is a good entertainment investment. But be aware that the design is more than two years old and could be near the end of its product cycle.

2 weeks after warranty expired..........
I purchased the Inno from Amazon on 8/21/07. It is the 3rd satellite radio I have owned and by far the best.
However, today, less than 3 weeks after the warranty expired, the radio stopped working.
When I called Pioneer, they told me to remove the battery, return the radio to the dock. It continued to power on and off, I was told the radio is defective.
I found my receipt and called them back, and was told they will exchange the radio, since the warranty expired only days ago. I was speechless, I could not believe how cooperative the customer rep was.
Hopefully, they will fulfill her promise.
If available, I will try to purchase an extended warranty for the new radio.

Thoroughly impressive technology for XM fans
I've been an XM fan for almost two years now, starting with a Delphi unit hooked up to my home stereo, which was later transferred to a Belkin boombox for bedroom use after I received a Polk Isonic standalone unit for Christmas to use in our living room. Both units are used daily without problems.

The only thing remaining was to have some sort of portable unit I might use on my daily walks. I purchased a Pioneer Inno (thru Amazon) two or three weeks ago and I'm absolutely delighted with it.

First, a caveat...You will find reception a bit "quirky" in that the signal will drop in and out at various times without a clear reason for it. I live in a metropolitan area, and there are terrestrial repeaters about, so if anything my experience should be better than someone who lives in less populated areas, I believe. Don't purchase this expecting the signal to be as accessible as any local radio station. I attribute this to the nature of satellite radio, not to any shortcoming of the Inno. It was frustrating at first, but I got the hang of routing my walking path in such a way that the signal was usually available (avoiding tree-lined sidewalks, for example).

Having said that, I believe the Inno is on a par with the Ipod as an example of superb consumer technology. The unit has a wonderfully solid "feel" and sound that is every bit as good as I hoped it would be.

The ability to record XM channels or songs and listen back anytime you want is marvelous. I cannot tell from the sound that I am listening to a recording and not a "live" XM signal. Recording my favorite music channel for a couple hours every night while the unit is charging allows me to play it back anytime I wish through the day no matter where I'm located (in that respect, it IS possible to listen to XM around the house any time you wish, as long as you have it recorded in advance--and this is a piece of cake. Just set it to record Channel xx every night from 2 to 5 AM and you're all set).

The screen interface is beautiful, and the outstanding documentation allows you to use the unit in all its functions immediately once it is fully charged. I wish Polk Isonic had spent some time studying the Pioneer documentation to learn how to write a lucid, easy-to-follow user manual. It is as good as any I've seen for any consumer electronic device.

I spent another or so for a Belkin armband holder for the unit, and I'm glad I did. It happens that I don't strap it to my arm very often because I'm always changing channels and moving the unit around for better reception, but the armband serves as a very convenient handle for the unit.

Congratulations to Pioneer for engineering a wonderfully solid unit that does everything it should. If I had to give up two of my XM receivers and keep just one, the Inno would be the one I'd keep.

Handy Little Radio
This radio is great. We own 3! We use it in the bathroom because it's battery operated and doesn't have to use one of our precious plugs AND it has great reception. Highly recommended!

Sony shower radio
This is a replacement of an identical item, which got broken. We were so happy with the original product, there was no consideration except a direct replacement.
